Presidential hopeful and retired army officer Gen. Henry Tumukunde believes that tapping into virgin voters can cause a twist in the coming presidential election.
Gen. Tumukunde who was receiving a group of virgin voters from Kampala said, recruiting the 4.5 million fresh voters is one of his plan adding that the group can be a big influence in the coming polls.
He further warns the electoral commission to print ballot papers from trusted sources as this will give credibility to the process.
This week parliament tasked the attorney general and the electoral commission to explaining the procedures for the bidding process for companies to print the ballot papers which caused alarm in the legislative assembly.
He cautions the electoral commission that any activity that discredits the process might lead the country back into the 1980s situation.
However, he questions why a number of UPDF officers are threatening the public with inciting statements, with the recent made by the head of Kasejagirwa army barracks in Masaka.
