The vice president of Uganda H.E Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has appeared before the electoral commission of NRM to respond to the petitions that was launched against him by his fellow contestant in the NRM primaries of Bukuto central Masaka District.
According to the petitioner Godfrey Sselemba Mayanja his accusing Hon. Edward Ssekandi together with his agents of taking part in electoral violence that include rigging among others.
However Selemba has, expressed dissatisfactions on how his petitions has been handled saying the tribunal legal team has not even taken time to visit the ground to gather enough information that shows double standards.
While speaking to media Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi who was elected as the flag bearer has dismissed all the claims regarding his victory saying he never participated in any violence as he urged the people of Bukoto to remain together and avoid disputes for a better development.
In related development, as the NRM party set to conduct its party primaries for Mawogoola North and South constituency ,Dr Tang Odoi the Party chairperson for electoral commission has warned the candidates against causing violence saying they will be dealt with accordingly.
