Following the President’s decision on lifting of the Lockdown partially security forces have been warned against use of excessive force while enforcing the COVID19 guidelines.
The Minister of ICT&NG has sounded a warning saying security operatives should not the take the advantage of the partial lockdown and end up brutalizing people in the name of enforcing the standard operating procedures following numerous complaints that were raised from the public against security.
Baryomunsi further cautioned security operatives against extorting money from people whenever they are enforcing the Guidelines who also equally urged the general public against violating the COVI19 guidelines.
Meanwhile Minister of Kamala Hajati Minsa Kabanda has revealed that kikuubo market and Arcade businessmen its upon their responsibility to ensure that they implement the president’s directives of ensuring that the too much congestion is controlled to avoid the spread of covid19 and making sure that these places are safe.
Meanwhile ministry of works and Transport has asked all public transport operators including Bus Associations, Boda Bodas and Taxi to do a civic role and take it upon themselves and carry only 5o% of the passengers mentioning that Buses shouldn’t exceed 38 passengers, Boda Boda carrying only 1 passengers as Taxi operators steak to 7 passengers strictly .
Bus parkers and Taxis have been cautioned against congesting Parks saying buses should be many .
Ministers have emphasized that Road sides vending and kiosks are the areas of contention and should be avoided if businesses are to resume by next week.
