Ministry of education and sports has revealed that schools will be ready to open on 15th October as directed by the president in his speech on Sunday.
Alex Kakooza the permanent secretary ministry of education has informed MPs that when students resume next month they will be studying for second term and says that the ministry is going to release a new calendar year which will be followed by schools and it will be showing when students will do their UNEB exams
while appearing before the education committee led by the state minister for higher education JC muyingo of parliament informed the MPs’ that they are ready to open schools but noted that it was the national task force on COVID-19 the determined the opening date.
Kakooza says that for the remaining classes the ministry expects them to do home schooling and the ministry is planning to distribute print, audio and video lessons for effective learning and says this will be used for promotion to the next class incase schools are not re-opened for all learners.
