In the preliminary results from the just concluded special interest groups (SIG) elections put the ruling party of the NRM in poll position a sign that the party still has supporters despite the new opposition wave mainly comprising the youths.
The Provisional/preliminary results (about 90%) of the recently-held Special Interest Groups elections in 146 districts NRM has registered a mad slide victory.

Kampala among other centers being opposition strongholds, the NRM has shown dominance a sign of hope for the top brass in the party.
Addressing party members this evening, the national chairman who doubles as the party’s sole candidate for presidency, H.E. YK Museveni attributes the rejuvenated power of NRM to special focus the party chairman accorded to the ghetto people who have for long been offering blown out support to the opposition.
The NRM now cautions the opposition parties that it will be using its silence to gunner more support to win the coming general elections.
The recent released poll reports continue to put NRM and President Museveni in poll position with over 41% followed by National Unity Platform (NUP) FDC among others.
However the opposition has strongly opposed the polls saying they are just manufactured in favor of the NRM.
