With this current heavy rainy season in the country,the Government has warned the general public to prepare themselves for the likely effects of this rain.
In the press statement issued by The Minister in charge of Primary Health Care Dr Moriku Kaducu Joyce says the country is likely to face diseases like Malaria,Bilhazia, Cholera, Diarrhea, among other diseases that could be dangerous to human lives adding that the ministry of Health has always worked hard towards the prevention of the outbreak of the water born diseases through enhancing health service facilities and distribution of mosquito.nets to all families.
Kadduchi further noted that since 2009 the prevalence of malaria in the country has tremendously reduced from 42% currently to 9.2% who in the same way emphasized the need for people to be cautious about the cholera outbreak as she urged the local leaders to intensify the cholera prevention through urging local communities to carry out regular hand washing,drinking boiled water,avoid eating cold food ,fruits that are normally sold on the streets,cleaning of drainage among others.
“Kasese, Ntoroko, Busia, Namayingo, Moyo are known to be the prone areas with rainy season.”
