The leader of the National Unity Platform Party Robert Kyagulanyi has been summoned by police to make a statement tomorrow about violation of COVID-19 guidelines
Police spokesperson Fred Enanga says that Kyagulanyi has been among those who have not adhered to the said guidelines and appears to encourage his supporters to ignore them.
He also confirms that a parliamentary aspirant identified as Wilfred Chemutai of the NRM in Kween district has been arrested while in Shema district, Dickson Kateshumbwa has recorded as statement. Both are accused of organizing public gatherings.
Enanga also says that Dr Charles Ayume a political rival of Minister Evelyn Anite in Koboko municipality has already made a statement and that Anite is also expected to do the same in Kibuli later today. Dr Ayume and Anite are accused of conducting processions in Koboko Municipality last week.
Enanga is urging political leaders to adhere to the guidelines
