Middle distance star, Winnie Nanyondo, will be the lone Ugandan among the world star-studded field that will grace the 800m track at the Doha Diamond League due September 25, 2020.
According to Doha provisional list as at September 21, Nanyondo will be competing against a very strong opposition of six world stars in the 10-women contest for 800m top honors.
The General secretary Namayo Mawere in her statement says, Nanyondo is a Ugandan who boasts a 1:58.63 Personal Best time in 800m will contend with a strong field commanded by Ethiopian Alemu Habitam who tops with 1:56.71 PB followed by Kenyans Eunice Jepkoech 1:56.99, Faith Kipyegon 1:58.02, Emilly Cherotich 1:58.04, Polish Angelika Cichocka 1:58.41 and British Oskan Clarke Shelayna 1:58.86.
The Doha Diamond League is the 4th and final competition of the shortened 2020 Diamond League series caused by the challenging COVID-19 pandemic circumstances.
