Following the issuance of NUP tickets last for the post of MPs and local councils, the party has continued to register more defiance from its top brass who were denied party tickets with the latest being Sulaiman Kidandala.
Kidandala was denied the ticket and given to the out spoken Muhammed Segirinya who is currently the area representative at the city authority in Kampala.
Failure to issue the ticket to Kindala has now seen him follow Hon. Moses Kasibante by declaring to stand as independents but with NUP allegiance.
Kidandala who is one of the top officials at NUP secretariat thinks he has the muscle to win the Kawempe north seat in parliament compared to Segirinya who has warmed up for the position since the start of this political term.
The decision by Kidandala and others to stand as independents proves very costly to the newest party in the country in the coming elections.
However electorates in the area view Kidandala as a potential parliament material compared to Segirinya.
The area is currently represented by Hon. Latif Sebagala who on several occasions has announced his retirement from politics but to bounce back at last in every election.
