The speaker of the parliament of Uganda Alitwala Kadaga has vowed to embark on fighting for equality of Education of girl child saying there has been a challenge of girls to attain education Kadaga attributes this to the colonial error that initiated the culture that girls are not meant to acquire education that she claims she has been fighting against ever since she joined NRM in early 80s by championing several campaigns regarding gal child and women emancipation.

Among other issues that Kadaga has hinted on as part of her profile was the issue of being the first female Ugandan to own a law firm in Uganda that led her to promote human rights in the country.
Several members of NRM running for the top positions of the party have all presented their manifesto for what they are going to do for the party more so to ensure that the party continue to progress under the leadership of President Yoweri Kagutta Museveni.
