The Newly appointed Chairperson of the Equal opportunities Commission Hon Safia Juuko Nalulu Has expressed her concern in the way people with disabilities are being treated while are looking for Job opportunities in this country,
Speaking after being sworn in as the chairperson of the Commission at High Court in Kampala Nalule revealed that persons with disabilities find it difficult to be employed due to their nature without considering their potential some thing that she said is unfair and called upon people to change their mindset.
Nalule has also noted that her first Assignment as the head of Equal opportunities commission is to ensure that the common injustices like stigmatization and Gender inequality are dealt with and in the same way pledged to work with all relevant Government agencies including judiciary, Local Government among others to ensure that every Ugandan is treated equally just like a Human being.
She has also called upon the general public to embrace the available Government programme like The parish module and also carry out commercial farming as the best avenues of getting out of poverty .
Meanwhile Robert Mugalula Secretary of the Equal opportunities Commission has raveled that there has been a vacuum in the commission since last due to the absence of The chairperson saying the operations are going to be effective with the new Chairperson..
