It was hard time for the state minister for works and transport Joy Kafula Kabatsi to be finally vetted as the NRM flag bearer for Rwemiyaga county in the coming 2020/21 parliamentary elections.
For over 10 years, Rwemiyaga has been under Hon. Theodore Sekikubo who is also a very tight friend of Hon. Joy Kafula Kabatsi and its very amazing to see that Kabatsi is coming to contest for the same post.
Sources at the party polls commission revealed that her vetting by the NRM electoral commission chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi was not smooth after the minister presented varying education documents causing confusion to the commissioners.
Among the papers she presented were Degrees and Diplomas which all had different names and this pushed Dr. Tanga to make hard think on what to do next.
Speaking to the press in his daily updates, Dr. Tanga made it clear that the candidate has some documents without Kabatsi (Degree) and diplomas with the name Kabatsi but with no gazetted documents to support the extra name.

She was however advised by the chairman to use the degree which she acquired before marrying his husband Kabatsi to prevent causing doubt.
But Hon. Kabatsi on speaking to the media after the whole exercise she revealed that she is still a very good friend to the incumbent Hon. Theodore Sekikubo only that she wants to represent the people of Rwemiyaga who have for so long not fully been represented by Hon. Theodore.
Kabatsi sights a number of government programs which have not trickled down to the beneficiaries attributing the failure to poor leadership by the incumbent.
Sekikubo is also expected to contest for the same position in the coming election.
