Ministry of financial has confirmed about a 3 year financing loan that was secured from from International Monitory Fund to tune of 1 billion us# towards the support of Uganda’s post
COVID19 recovery.
This has been confirmed by Minister for Finance Planning and Economic Development Matia kassaija and revealed some of the reasons why the Government decided to Ask the loan from lMF mainly to revive the country’s Economy that has been hit by COVID19 mentioning sectors like industry,service and Employment.
Kassaija has however warned the Government accounting officers against mismanagement of these funds and urged them to be effective while executing their duties for better service delivery and extended his pledge for a better service delivery in this new financial year.
Meanwhile Patrick Ocialp the Deputy Permanent Secretary ministry finance has revealed that In this new financial year Government is will save a tune of 600 Billion shillings from the expenditures in areas like international Travels, seminars and workshops explaining these have been areas where the Government has been spending some huge expenses
He added that this financial year Government won’t borrow beyond 51.1%.
