The Ministry of Education and sports is advising is advising members of the public to use the Government incubation centers mainly at Makerere University business school and Uganda management institute to acquire innovative skills that will help them create jobs.
the permanent secretary ministry of Education and sports Alex Kakooza was speaking at the just concluded Higher Education science and technology project ,an initiative of Uganda Manufacturers association.
the project was mainly contributing towards skilling graduates in a bid to reduce on the growing levels on un employment.
through the Uganda manufacturers association,over five thousand Ugandans graduates have been able to attain skills through various internship placements in different factories and also been able to create their own jobs as a result of being employed in large parastatles.
According to Daniel Birungi the Executive Director Uganda Manufacturers association,the initiative has helped reduce on the cost of expatriate labor for industries as Ugandans have now acquired skills that are being put to use locally.
