Leader of Opposition ,Hon Betty Aol Ocan has Warned the Government that its new program called Parish modal that aimed at addressing poverty in the Country is bound to fail if its not handled properly.
Hon. Betty revealed this during a meeting with Karamoja and Northern legislators while the levels of poverty in those areas and revealed how Karamoja has been ignored by the Government in addressing their Challenges.
Among the challenges she mentioned that affects these areas include the poor infrastructures like roads ,electricity, hospitals, low levels of house hold incomes, poor education system among others, adding that it requires more than 400 billions shillings investment by the Government such that their placing issues are addressed.
Hon. Betty cited various Government programmes like PRDP, Operation Wealth Creation, and the current Emyooga programme that all these have not effectively succeeded due to the weakness within the Government system.
Meanwhile Atiku county member of parliament Benard Atiku has revealed west Nile being the most highly affected area with Kony war insurgency deserved to be considered mostly in the economic development of this nation stressing the disappointment by the Government adding that infrastructures should be heavily invested in in areas of electricity and roads tp encourage industrialization and more investors.
