The Ministry of Finance has tabled a supplementary budget for the ministry of Health worth 18.5bn for the purchase of covid-19 vaccines.
The supplementary has been laid before the committee by state minister for Finance David Bahati in accompaniment with Permanent secretary in the ministry of health Dr Diana Atwine.
Bahati told the committee that the manufacturer and supplier have already requested for 5bn a commitment fee to start on packaging of the vaccine as an order request.
The ministry of health has also sked the government to add them 42.8 bn shillings for face masks out of which 16.3bn for purchase and supply of masks to districts that had not received, 26bn clear debts of the previous distributed masks, 4bn help in distributing and transporting masks.
