The current survey report that was conducted by AFRO Barometer in December last year about COVID19 pandemic shows that 75% Ugandans believe that distribution of the Government food relief packages to support them during the covid.19 pandemic was not fairly distributed that it mainly went to Kampala and Wakiso districts with the first phase that only targeted 1.million urban poor.
Where as The Lockdown greatly affected the biggest population in the Country, but nearly 98% of the general population believe that last year’s Lockdown was Necessary to limit the spread of COVID19.
According to Francis Kibirige The National Coordinator for Afro Barometer survey shows that more than three quarters of Ugandans believe that atleast some of the resources available for responding to the pandemic were lost due to corruption among Government officials among which include mismanagement of COVID19 funds .
Kibirge in the same way has called upon the Government to bring all stakeholders on the board to find a lasting solution to the current deadly Corona virus and avoid the past mistakes in regard to the fight against the pandemic.
