Dollo refuses to step down from hearing Kyagulanyi’s election petition against incumbent and President elect Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
The Chief Justice gives no detailed reason as he reserves the same in a yet to come ruling on 18th/March .
“Now with Kyagulanyi’s lawyers not having formally moved court to withdraw the petition , the matter is adjourned to tomorrow for a plea trial conference.” Says Dollo.
The application asking CJ Dollo to recuse himself from hearing the petition had been filed by city lawyer Hassan Male Mabirizi who claims Justice Dollo is not fit to preside over an election petition against president Museveni having been his lawyer in a similar petition in 2006 and that the 2 have since met on several occasions since Dollo’s appointment as Chief Justice.
Dollo further declined to recuse himself For the reasons He says will give out in a detailed Ruling.
