Corruption remains the biggest challenge that the NRM government has not yet adequately addressed, despite several attempts that have been put in place like the state House Anti corruption unity ,among others.
According to the Prime Minister and Head of Government Business in Parliament Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, revealed this while launching the 2021 NRM manifesto week and explained that corruption tendencies have drastically hindered the economic development of the country and hinted on the need to continue finding punitive measures of combating it.
However, Rugunda has mentioned several key successes of NRM according to their manifesto of 2016 to 2021 among which include the revival of Uganda Airlines with already four aircrafts in the Country fully operating ,extension of clean water supply to about 85% in the Country, the construction of road network for a tune of 1452 km in the Country including the construction of express highway that has addressed the traffic jam ,the construction of Hydro Power dams that currently Uganda has a total of 10254 mega wats among others.
